So far, so good. All our guests reported good trails last night. We got some light rain yesterday afternoon here at camp, and have lost about 8" of snow as of this morning.
Click HERE for a report from the Powell group who started in Watersmeet last night, rode to Houghton and then to Kemosabe, staying in Cabins 1 and 2.

Quote from the Fulton group here last week:
"Sherry & Jeff
We made it home Friday evening from Snowmobiling at Kemosabe Cabins .... what a sacrifice it was to leave all those beautiful trails and 10” of new snow... The two Alabama and one Florida members of our party are home now but the memories of this trip to Munising will last a long time. Some of us have been riding in the UP for over thirty years and we’ve never seen the trails and snow conditions better than what they are now. The only negative we could find was the fact that we had to come home. If work didn’t stand in our way, we would be on our way back as I’m not sure snowmobiling will ever be that good again. Thanks to Kemosabe Cabins for hosting us and allowing us to have a great trip. We’re already talking about doing it again next year. Tom Fulton"
2.19.09 Temp 14F and total of about 2 feet of new snow since Tuesday 2.17
New trail video HERE show Tom Fulton's group from Cabin 5 enjoying the fresh snow--2+ feet!
Our guests all having a blast this week with the new snow.
We are under a blizzard warning until 1am Friday. M28 is closed between Munising and Harvey since 5pm last night.
2.17.09 Temp 20F and 3" new snow overnight

2.14.09 Temp 26F no snow overnight
Trails are varied in the UP. Some great, some bad. Temps have dropped so the groomers are working hard to keep them in the best shape they can. We hear mixed reports from our sledders about the conditions.
2.13.09
Click HERE for today's trail report. Temp 27F and 1" new snow overnight.
2.12.09
This is info per our sledders, so the accuracy is not verified.
Trail 8 looking good but slushy in some areas.
Trail 417 five miles past the Brownstone has a washout building up and at 2pm today it was 3/4 across the trail.
There are still hundreds of miles of good looking trails though, some are slushy and heavy but still rideable.
2.11.09
Current temp 38F and no new snow overnight
Trails being groomed continuously once they start to freeze back up, according to the groomer line.
All our guests were all out riding both yesterday and today in spite of the warm-up. Our snowcam shows about 26". Today will be warm and then it looks like we're back on track with cold and snow.
There's some dirt showing through in places, but not much as of yesterday. If we get the snow forecast for the next few days, riding this weekend should be fine.
See below for yesterdays taped trail report; new report tonight after our riders make it in.

1.19.09
Temp is 15°F Snowfall overnight around 5". Continuing to snow on and off today. Fluffy lake effect snow is slippery at this point.
Reports that Trail 8 is getting bumpy round these parts--it's seen more riders over the long weekend. Recording from the Munising area groomer is that trails are being groomed every day.
1.18.09
Temp 5°F this morning. 3"-4" of new snow overnight. Forecasted for lake effect snow today thru early Monday.
We haven't heard anything new about the trails----still looking awesome although there are more sledders in the UP this weekend. Everyone riding reports the same thing: best trail conditions in years...fast, smooth and bump-free.
1.17.09
Temp 2°F with a forecasted high of 17°F Scattered snow overnight with about 1"-2" accumulation; 2"-4" forecasted for today.
Not much new for the trails around Munising--all reports from our sledders whether short-range riders or long range, is that the trails are the best in years--smooth and flat. Some trails have been groomed and there isn't a mark on them.
One group rode 208 miles yesterday and saw only 15 sleds all day.
1.11.09 updated
All our sledders are coming back and reporting fantastic trail conditions. We're also hearing that the trails are not packed with riders.

For the off-trail, deep snow enthusiasts there is plenty of deep snow in the Munising/Shingleton area and on up to Grand Marais.
Groomers are out regularly and trails are excellent. Fewer sleds=better trails for the people that make the trip up.
01.09.09 updated
The groomers are going strong and most trails in our area have been groomed twice including Beartrap, Hiawatha, Buckhorn, Christmas this week.
Trail #7 flat to Camel Riders.
Trail #8: Shingleton to Christmas is smooth riding
Trail #419 to Munising and Christmas is great riding.
Grand Marais: Groomed nightly and in good to excellent condition. #443 from #88N not groomed due to logging activity. Trail #8 East from Airport/Ellen St toward #443, and #8 East on Old Seney Road for a short distance and again on #8 East before Rainbow Lodge are not groomed due to logging also.
Locals say this is the best riding they've seen in YEARS. Trails are not packed with people yet, so if you can make it up before the rush starts at the end of the month---you've got some fine riding waiting for you.
Locally, at Kemosabe, our snow depth gage shows a good 30" and it's pouring snow right now.
